Byron is Playoff Bound for the Fifth Consecutive Season and as the No. 1 Seed

Making the NASCAR Playoffs is nothing out-of-the-ordinary for William Byron, but starting the run on the top is. For the first time in his career, the Charlotte-native is poised as the No. 1 seed. It is his fifth postseason appearance in his six-year NASCAR Cup Series career, and the 36 playoff points are the most he and the No. 24 team have ever earned. Byron led the Cup Series in regular-season victories with five visits to Victory Lane.

The Round of 16 kicks off this weekend at Darlington Raceway. Practice and Qualifying will be televised Saturday at 12:30 pm ET on USA. Countdown to Green airs live on Sunday at 5:30 pm ET followed by the Southern 500 on USA.
