Concord, N.C. (August 10, 2013) - William Byron began the Concord (N.C.) Speedway's fall racing season the same way he ended the spring season at the quarter-mile bull ring in victory lane. Byron had a perfect evening, recording the fastest time in time trials and leading all 25 laps in the feature event.
He lined up his Dennis Lambert prepared No. 25 on the inside of the front row under threatening skies. The 15-year-old rookie racer stormed into the first turn hoping to get a jump on his competitors. Byron worked hard to hit his marks and saw his lead grow to a straightaway when the checkered flag flew.
"I got a good start going into the first turn," said the happy Byron in victory lane. "As always Dennis gives me a great race car and I wanted to start off the fall season at Concord with a win."
This was Byron's 18th win of the 2013 season as he races towards the U.S. Legends national points championship. Byron currently sits at the top of the point standings with two months to go in the season-long championship.
Concord Speedway will be back in action on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 23 and 24 where Byron hopes to add to his season totals. After 50 races Byron has recorded 18 wins, 37 top-fives and 45 top-10 finishes.
